Good ... and welcome to the Nanoose Power and Sail Squadron web site!

Commander Mike PetersonNanoose Power Squadron came into being in 1992 to satisfy a local demand for training in boating safety.

Not all our students have been boat owners; many have wanted very wisely to find out what knowledge is needed to navigate even our local waters without mishap.

Each year we run Boating and Radio courses which are usually sold out and, every 2 years, we run a Seamanship Course. For the last Seamanship Course we had the highest individual mark (Simon Huddy our Training Officer with 100%) and the highest class average mark for Vancouver Island North District. For these two achievements we won the Seamanship Awards of the year. Congratulations to the students and to Peter Milne, the instructor. We hope to offer more courses this coming season.

Besides training we host a series of entertaining and informative members nights (partners most welcome). Check out the Events section for details. We’d love to see you there.

Happy (and Safe) Boating!
