 Nanoose Power Squadron
came into being in 1992 to satisfy a local demand
for training in boating safety.
Not all our students have been
boat owners; many have wanted very wisely to find
out what knowledge is needed to navigate even
our local waters without mishap.
Over the years we have endeavoured
to throw light on the mysteries of reading Charts,
of using the VHF radio, of gauging weather conditions,
of anchoring and a host of other marine activities
– even of taking on fuel without endangering
passengers and crew.
